What is Veterinary Hospice?
Veterinary Hospice Care is a philosophy dedicated to the concept that an animal has the right to live his or her life to its natural conclusion. Hospice seeks to establish and maintain standards and practices whereby veterinary practitioners, in partnership with animal guardians, provide palliative care and supportive measures that maintain quality of life and ensure pain control during the last stages of life. TAHP supports and encourages the continued development of veterinary hospice care in the U.S. and around the world.
